Going Green!

So in the last couple weeks, after being inspired by an OPRAH show all about going green, I decided to make some changes to the way we live to help the environment and probably save us a few pennies! I told Bob about it and I think he's all for it....he isn't against it anyway. We've taken baby steps since recycling has become so foreign to us (so embarressing). I wish Alberta was made to recycle like NS is made too. I don't know how to keep these things separate so our little pantry area has become a storage room for cans, cardboard, paper, containers....do we need to buy our own recycling bins? I know there's a simple way to do it probably, but I just need to be taught. I'm going to try to keep our van stalked with plastic bags so that we can re-use our 100 billion when we go grocery shopping. What else.....Oh yah, I had also considered using cloth diapers but had no idea where to start. Then last weekend, Summer and I visited the Stephens and Anne showed me the ropes so now, we'll be saving the environment, one cloth diper at a time. We would fill a garbage bag a week full of dirty diapers. That's a lot of waste. Now, I just do a wash a day and re-use re-use re-use. Now I just need to convince my friends to do the same!

Way to GO!!! I used cloth diapers with Meadow for the first six months at least. It is so much better for their skin.

For my recycling, I bought three plastic bins (not huge), one for paper, one for plastic, one for glass. When one gets full, it gets popped in the car and I head to the recycling depot to empty it.

Welcome to the Green Side!!
