7 weeks ago, I was in Red Deer getting ready to have a baby. It actually seems like it's been longer than 7 weeks. My nights are still very good, consistent and predictable, which I like. She's still sleeping on a 6 hour stretch, then eating, and then back to bed for 2-3 hours.
Coaching volleyball is going good. We just had a tourny in Red Deer and we came 7th out of 20 teams. Not bad for our first tourny. Thankfully Bob was there to help and there were enough parents there who were more than willing to watch Summer. We're busy but we're organized.
Coaching is a really tough job. I like it cuz I like teaching, but it's hard in a game. I'm always worried about getting everyone in, although my coaching philosophy is play to win. So it was tricky trying to figure out which person plays each position the best. We still have a few kinks to work out and hopefully we'll only get better.
It's good having Ryan here. Every night I get him to play his guitar.....I love guitar music. It's so mezmorizing, or as Ryan calls it, memorizing. He gets those two words mixed up.
I kind of get nervous leaving Ryan here by himself though....A couple nights ago while Bob and I were out, Ryan was here mannin the fort. We get home and I notice the oven on. I ask Ryan how long it's been on, and he's all, "Oooops, I think 45 minutes....wait a sec....ACTUALLY 4 HOURS! AHHHHH". Oh Ryan!!!! 4 hours oh my word! I told him never to make anything with the stovetop or oven while we're away. So these pics were taken today just before church. Summer's 7 weeks old oh my word!!!
Summer and Mommy all ready for Church
As soon as I put the hat on her, she started fussing.....
......which turned to full out blattin
I had just taken the hat off so she was still a bit sad but she was fine a minute later.
Thanks to Ryan living with us, it's made me consciously think about what we'll be having for lunch and supper. Before when it was just Bob and I, we would have whatever we could find that would take less then 10 minutes to make. I should have cared more prior to Ryan moving in, but I didn't. Alas, since he's moved in, we've had meal upon meal upon meal. And they've been pretty good. Some of them are still simplistic but they're still good. Here we're enjoying burritos!
