Babblings at 5am

Is that an almost smile I see? She's a month old already!

Banff Springs Hotel. It's so pretty at night. Sorry Fran, you're probably sick of the sight of this place. Isn't the cheapest room there like, $400/night or something like that?

Last night as Bob and I walked back to our house after a late night supper with our riends, I saw my fist northern lights ever. And I've been out here for 2 years now and that's not including when I lived at Briercrest.
Summer, burp please. I've finally found a way to stay awake in the middle of the night while feeding Sum....post a blog! Or read posts of other people. She just won't won't burp for the love.
I must say, I'm perfecting my ability to type with one hand!
So anyways, people, you should blog a bit more so that I have more posts to read in the night.
Summer did great sleeping so far. She went down at 12am and woke up at 4:30am. It's now 5am and I'm hoping she'll sleep till at least 7:30am. Tha'd be nice. We'll see. Goin back to bed.

Horray! It's 7:23am and Sum just woke up! 6 and a half hours of sleep for me, not bad. So many people have asked me if I am enjoying motherhood and what the biggest change has been in our lives so far. Of course I'm enjoying being a mother. I think that us having two dogs before Summer taught us a lot about responsibilty and how to care for another life as well as our own. It's kind of mini prepped us I think even though the comparisons are much different.

The biggest adjustment for us (other than less sleep) has been the prep involved in getting ready to go out. We need to feed her, change her diaper, ger her dressed, have her diaper bag ready. Take yesterday for example in getting ready for church. While I fed her, I told Bob to go get himself ready so that when I was done, he could take Sum while I got ready. It would be great if I could just lay her in her crib but most of the time she hates being left in there awake. She lays there for a bit and then starts to cry right loud. I've let her cry a number of times to see if she'd stop on her own but no dice.

Summer has so many clothes I don't know what to do with them all. It's good cuz they're all different sizes si I won't have to buy clothes for her till sh's like, 3. It's just, we have no storage space for all the older clothes. And my fear is that if we do store them in some tpperware bin in the attic that I'll forget about them and then she'll have grown out of them.

So I'm coaching the jr. high boys vball team this year ad Bob's coaching the sr. high boys. My practice is before his so we'll take turns with Summer. This year will go so fast and then it will be Christmas! I wish it wasn't so expensive to fly east. I'd like to get home to visit. Does anyone know how to get cheap flights?
