We Love Night-time

Because the week is sooooo busy, winding down and getting settled before bed is so great! It's my favorite part of the day. I just gave Summer a bath, fed her and put her to bed. I just LOVE that her body knows that it's time to sleep for the night! I was telling Erin today that the way we have our routine set up is that Summer takes lots of little naps throughout the day. She eats, is awake and plays a bit, and then naps. Then when she wakes up, it's eat, awake, and sleep. It's working so well that I love life. I kinda got this routine idea from a book I read before Summer was born, called Baby Wise. Sometimes she misses a nap here and there but that's life.
From when my nephews Jeffrey and Daniel were born, Tanya gave them a bath every night before bed. I think that's what I'm going to start doing with Summer...she's starting to love baths and I think they really relax her so that will become our new routine I think.
Today I slacked in the meals department. We had lunch on time but supper was a different story. I had practice, then Bob's team had a vball game so at 7:30pm, we went out to pick up some groceries and then came home to make our supper.
So crazy news story that happened a few weeks ago....did you hear about the overpass that collapsed in Quebec?? Oh my word, that's crazy! It just collapsed, taking a couple cars down with it and landing on top of a car! The police on the scene said the car didn't even come as high as his ankle/calf. Oh my word! Unimaginable.
And then, more shootings in Colorado I think? I'm getting so sick of hearing about people going into schools and shooting people. It makes me so angry. Even to hear of other murders and animal cruelty. Lots of people out there need Jesus and we need to make sure that we're out there, doing our job to let them know about Him.
I liked Anne's idea that she posted about a while ago about her and Trevor taking Leah while they went door to door inviting people to church (I think it was). I want to be able to take Summer with us starting at a young age to share Jesus with others.
Bob was asked to join the prison ministry team at our church. I think that would be so interesting, challenging, and rewarding to go and do something like that. At the same time, a little scary. People in prison have no way about knowing about Jesus unless people like us go and share Him with them. It's once a month that they go visit the jail, so Bob will decide here in the next couple of weeks. I think it would be good for him to go.
Sad news...a couple that Bob and I went to school with in Moncton got pregnant three months ago. Pregnant with twin boys that were joined at the head and shared the same air passage. Today, they terminated their pregnancy because the doctor told them that the babies would die before being born. I can't imagine. Keep them in your prayers.
So tonight for supper we had pork chops, beans, and sidekicks. Then Ryan made us all dessert....ice cream with loads of fudgee-o cookies mixed in. I think he put 5 cookies in my small bowl of ice cream so I feel ILL now. I'm not really a dessert gal so I bet my stomach won't feel good all night.
So sorry that I'm all over the place with this blog. I just can't find cool theme ideas to write about. And since I'm a scatterbrain anyways, that's how my blog ends up.
Okay, so you know how people are always all, "if only I had this, then I'd be happy!" and then they get that one thing and they're temporarily happy and then they think of ANOTHER thing that they need that will make them happy......I'll tell you the thing that will make me happy.......a house. I just want my own house. I know I don't need it right now, but I just want it. I want want want it. And I know that if I have my own house, I'll be happy and will never want anything again. HAHA, if only that were true. I'd be happy for sure, but there would be something else that I would desperately want soon after I'm sure.
