What a week! Last Sunday we said fairwell to our beloved dog Slugger of 4 years. We decided that we havn't been able to give him the attention and exersize he needs since having Summer, so after Bob posted an email, we quickly heard a response from the Olhousers, a family with 7 kids who live on a farm. So last Sunday we took him over there to see how he'd adapt, and he didn't stop running the whole hour we were there with him. He LOVED it. A farm with all that space! And they're actually moving to a bigger farm in a month, where there'll be ponds and tons of animals.
Later that night, Bob hopped a plane to SK to take a course toward his Masters, so he had been gone until Thursday, leaving me, Ryan and Summer. It was still a busy week for us even without Bob. I had my play practices, Ryan had to get his flying hours in, I took Summer and Roxy for walks and to the swimming pool.
Bob got back late Thursday night and had to be up the next morning by 7:30am to head to Red Deer to run some errands, coach a basketball game and then be back by 4pm to start reffing for the jr. high basketball tourny. Summer and I had been at the gym Friday afternoon helping with setup and then we just hung out there, as I kind of hosted the tourny. I practically lived in the coaches corner room where parents had brought a ton of food. The last couple weeks Summer had been making strange to people that she knew and who held her before. So I was hesitant to hand her off to those people at the gym but we tried it out and voila! She was completely fine which was great because it gave me a bit of a break to eat more food, hand out medals and talk to the coaches.
Bob reffed a total of 10 games and the tournament ended last night at 7pm. So we came home but Bob had just enough time to shower and head back to the gym for his college game. And now it's Sunday. The day to rest. And that's exactly what we're doing, although we might go for a walk in a bit, because that can be relaxing too.
Summer loved waking up her dad this morning! She's hardly seen him this whole weekend! He was ecstatic this morning when he made Summer laugh for the first time.
