Running out of Ideas

I havn't blogged this much in a long time. I don't have time. Maybe I do, but I busy myself with other things. So I'm blogging a lot because I've been subbing the last couple days and the kids are good and they do their work and when they talk, they're actually talking about chemistry. Music to my ears! Not really but it allows me to blog and ramble and not be nagging them to do what they're supposed to be doing.
Okay, so I'll tell you what ideas I'm running out of. I'm running out of cool, fun, different ideas to do with my kids. I'm running out because it's winter still. I cannot wait until spring so we can just go outside and play and explore and get sun!
I guess I'm not running out of ideas...I do have a few that I regularily do with my kids but I guess I just would like some differentiation. Big word, I know.
So this is what I do, in between my housework duties:

1. Play card games with them (they're first word cards with pictures and I have them sit in front of me, place a card in front of each of us and I make them wait 3 seconds before turning it over and then we say what's on the card, or count the items on the card or act out what's on the card. This is a fun one.

2. We visit www.starfall.com for alphabet computer activities. Very fun.

3. Playdough, coloring, painting. These ones bug me a bit because Nash constantly is putting these things in his mouth. I should do these ones more I guess so that Nash learns he's not supposed to do this.

4. Playing with their toys obviously.

This is it. I know that these are fine but I'm getting bored. I need new. When my friend was babysitting one time, she played a granola game with them that they loved....she gave them salad tongs, an icecube and a bucket and they had to try to pick up the icecube and put it in the bucket. So funny.

Ideas?

Hey! Nice of you to say hello. :) We are fans of the Starfall site as well. Caleb learned how to read with that alone.
Love your picture on your sidebar too.
