Falling

The last time I remember falling really hard was running after my friends coming out of the library at Briercrest. It was an ugly fall lemme tell you. I tripped over my big boots and ended up scraping my hand.
Today was the same, but different. Me and Aunt Cleo and family were walking from the church to our vehicles.....I was wearing my high heeled sandels because it's spring and I wanted to desperately to breakout my spring wear. High heels and walking on rocky bumpy sidewalks do not mix! At all!
I was holding Summer in my left arm, and it was my left foot that wabbled and came from right under my body. It was like, in slow motion and I knew I was going down but my goal was to not let Summer hit the ground. So I landed on my left knee/leg, then my left elbow smashed into the ground and I gracefully did a shoulder roll and rolled onto my back, with my legs in the air. Thank goodness for all the gymnastic shoulder rolls we practiced in junior high at Ber'k. Aunt Cleo and family stood over me with their mouths open wide asking if I was okay. I was all, "JUST GET ME UP, THIS IS EMBARRESSING!" Hahaha.
Amazingly, Summer did not touch ground at all. I SAVED her! And my body is paying deeply! It's too bad that Bob was busy in convo with people just outside the church and did not see it.

Love how the mother instinct kicked in and you saved summer! What a good mom :)

Hope you recover soon...

oh my goodness. that fall at briercrest was the funniest thing i remember from all my years there! yelling at the girls to wait for you, reaching out to grab on of their bags, and proceeding to wipe out. So funny!
