I've always known this to be true but only recently have I been able to see and feel how true it actually is. I am my mother. People have always said that I look like her, which is true and I don't mind - that's a compliment actually! I hope I look as good as she does at 57.Here is a list of all the similarities that I can think of that makes me my mother.
2. Our looks - Thin, sometimes scrawnily thin (but not right now obviously), veiny hands and legs (thanks for the genes mom.....now that's all I'll be wearing for the rest of my life....jeans and maybe some good ol clam diggers to hide my veiny legs).
3. Too rambunctious to sit and watch a full movie in completion We both always make excuses of finding something else to do. (I find tv and most movies a waste of my time). Last night while watching Eight Below, for the first half hour of the movie, Bob spyed on me and watched me look at each living room wall more than 6 times.....sorry, but I was scanning ideas in my head of how to more making my living room look nice and cozy :)
4. Going to bed at 2am because our minds work overtime on things we could be doing rather than sleeping.
5. Quick to getting impatient - It's good to recognize the negative so that we can work at change (my husband has the most patience I think I've ever seen in a person).
6. We have our own certain way on how to fold laundry and it drives us crazy if anyone else happens to fold our laundry a different way. Basically we have our own certain way and routines for everything we do :)
7. We're nerds. Sorry mom, but we are. I can't explain how we are nerds in the same way, but we just are. When Glenna lived here, everyday, twice a day (sometimes even more) she would say, "You are mom!" or "Okay mom" or "You're so much like mom it's scary!".
Anyways, that's all the similarities I can think of now.
Now I must begin my tasks for the day. I have a looonnngg list to follow.
Keep me focused Lord.
